For Women’s Month, author Kat Gomez-Limchoc was one of the featured speakers in the “Wisdom and Happy Hour” event of Publicis Groupe Philippines which brought together 11 female leaders of this network of 11 advertising, media, digital, PR and production companies. Each leader was asked to speak about lessons learned from interests beyond their work roles.
Speaking to an overflowing all-female crowd, Kat shared female empowerment lessons that are present in the story of “Nagmalitong Yawa”, made all the more remarkable that this story was written hundreds of years ago and passed down for generations by epic chanters. Some nuggets Kat shared: “Since pre-colonial times, our people have instinctively believed in the equality of men and women” and “Since pre-colonial times, there was admiration for women who could be both feminine and masculine.”
Other meaningful talks in the event were on breaking the stereotypes of female drivers, learnings from being a “girltrepreneur”, and thriving in a man’s world.
Kat is the Executive Creative Director of Blackpencil Manila, one of the advertising agencies of the Publicis Groupe. Concurrently, she also holds the position of Lead Culture Officer of the entire network.
